Jwaneng Galaxy head coach Philani Mabena has been voted beMOBILE premier league coach of the month for January. This has not come as a surprise looking at the performance Galaxy has displayed lately. To Mabena though, this award bestowed by Botswana Premier League Technical group has come as an honour. Mabena said he is humbled and honoured to have been given such an award. He said it is not only important to the coach’s career but also to the team he is leading. According to him, the coach of the month award came as a result of hard work by both the team and the management. Mabena’s work at Galaxy has been visible as the team is slowly transforming into a strong side. Since taking over as coach at Galaxy, the team has shown great signs of improvements. Since the start of the second round of the 2015/2016 season, the team has not conceded a single goal. Currently in the maiden beMOBILE premier league campaign since the merger of Jwaneng teams, Galaxy are sitting at position 8. Mabena said this has been brought about by the high level of team spirit at the club which make work easier for him.…
