
The Zebras are plunging down FIFA World Rankings. The recently released rankings have placed the Zebras at position 116 in the world. This translates to a one-step slip down the ladder from the previous 115th position in the world. The Zebras have accumulated a total of 298 points, which is a one point loss from 299 points. Botswana, however, remained 37th in Africa. The continued down fall has always been associated with the team’s inactivity. Since points are awarded when teams play against each other there is no how Zebras can collect points because the team spends a long time without playing international friendly games missing out even on official FIFA friendly match weeks. Analysts have always called on authorities to start making sure that the team honours the matches for a chance to improve its rankings. They argue that if nothing is done the team will fall to its worst ever position in the world. The worse ranking Zebras ever recoded was position 165 in November 1999. Meanwhile, Egypt is number one in Africa followed by Senegal in second position and Cameroon in third. Even teams that Botswana used to be ahead of like Swaziland are now far ahead.…
