
Hopes are high as Botswana sends a strong National Volleyball ladies’ team to Yaoundé, Cameroon for the 2016 Rio Olympics qualifiers. The team left the country on Tuesday for the games that run from February 12 to 19, 2016. Botswana Volleyball Federation (BVF) President Daniel Molaodi is confident the team will do well at the qualifiers looking at its continued improving strength. Molaodi, who is happy with the development of volleyball in the country, said the team is now ranked high in Africa even above South Africa. Despite the strong team sent to Cameroon, Botswana is expected to face a very tough competition against the likes of power houses Egypt, Kenya, Algeria, Morocco and the hosts Cameroon. Molaodi revealed that the team all the teams that will play at the qualifiers are ranked higher than Botswana safe of only one. This leaves the team with a mountain to climb to qualify for the Olympics as only the team that finishes at the top goes through.
