
When the Zebras take on Bafana this Saturday for the Chan Championship, they will be led by a new technical team. This comes after Botswana Football Association appointed Major David Bright as Zebras head coach. Bright bring with him Sthandwa Mogwadi as his assistant coach. The duo brings a wealth of coaching experience to the national team and is confident to revive the team. Speaking at the unveiling ceremony of BFA president Maclean Letshwiti said they brought in Bright as a deliberate move to localise the position. Letswhiti said they felt that for the national team to do well it needed someone who understand local football. He said Bright was hired following the advice from BFA technical advisors who presented Bright as the right man for the job. Bright has signed a three-year contract. He has been given deliverables that include qualifying for the AFCON 2019 competition and reaching the group stages of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. The coach has also been tasked to reach the finals of the next COSAFA games as well as do well in the CHAN championship games.
