Local football lovers will continue to be treated to football spectacle as the Mascom Top 8 comes back bigger and better. This follows the renewal of the Mascom Top 8 contract between Mascom Wireless and Botswana Football Association (BFA) that came to an end last season. The two parties have signed a two-year contract for the country’s biggest football tournament. Mascom and BFA have been in partnership for the Mascom Top 8 tournament since 2012. The Season 7 of the tournament will see a further improvement to the price money, with the winner walking away with P1.3 million reflecting P100 000 growth from last season. All the other prices however will remain the same. Speaking at the launch of the Season Seven Mascom Top 8 tournament, Mascom CEO Jose Couceiro reiterated his company’s commitment towards the development of sport in the country. Couceiro said the increase in the money that the company continues to spend on the tournament is a reflection of such a commitment.
