Botswana’s 800m ace Nijel Amos returns to the line-up at the Müller Anniversary Diamond League today (Sunday July 22), to revive hopes of finishing in good position to make the final scheduled for August 31 in Brussels. Amos, together with another local 400m sensation Baboloki Thebe have missed the Diamond League meeting circuit since the start of the season. Ahead of the Sunday race Amos was scheduled test his pace in a non-Diamond League race on Wednesday at 31st Herculis EBS Meet. After the London Stadium meet Amos will be left with Birmingham to qualify for top 8 finish and secure a place at the finals in Brussels. He will have to accumulate points in the two meetings to confirm the top 8 bracket. He will be up against the likes of Kenyan’s Wyclife Kinyamal and Emmanuel Korir, from Britain; Elliot Giles, Andrew Osagie, Daniel Rowden and Jake Wightman, Polish Adam Kszczot as well as USA’s Clayton Murphy and Erik Sowinski.
