BTC crowd pullers Extension Gunners suffered yet another big blow by failing to secure a Top 8 finish for the second consecutive year despite having had a promising start to the season. The Lobatse-based outfit coached by former Zebras star Pontsho Moloi lost their final game 0-2 to Sankoyo Bush Bucks – that were nevertheless relegated to the lower division. Gunners youthful team finished in position 10 this season with 36 points managing to register only nine wins during the entire campaign, nine draws and 12 defeats. Football analysts and supporters say many obstacles stood in Gunners’ way. Football analyst Jimmy George acknowledged that the team did well under Moloi’s tutelage despite missing the Top 8 finish. George said credit should be given to Moloi for instilling confidence in the young players, saying he is optimistic that they can do much better in the next season if given chance. “It is hurting of course for a big team like Gunners to miss Top 8 for two seasons in a row but this is because of the circumstances that the team finds itself under most of the times.
