
Botswana national U-20 football team will on Friday host their counterparts from Zimbabwe in the 2nd leg of the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Lobatse. Botswana enters the encounter with a 1-nil advantage after defeating The Young Warriors in their own backyard a fortnight ago. Philimon Makwengwe’s charges are expected to face a wounded buffalo as the young Zimbabweans will be looking to overturn the results to proceed to the next round. The Zimbabwean team is expected in Botswana today (Wednesday). The visitors are adamant that they can undo the 1-0 defeat to their advantage. Young Warriors coach Jairos Tapela was quoted in Zimbabwean media, saying they are coming to Botswana for a win and nothing else. “Failure is not an option for us. We are confident of overturning the score line and go to the next round of the competition,” Tapela was quoted saying. Makwengwe, on the other hand, has a strong team ready for the challenge. Their win over Young warriors at home shows the team is capable. Playing before their spectators, the local boys are expected to reproduce the play they displayed in Zimbabwe.
