Footballers Union of Botswana (FUB) has come to the rescue of local out-of-contract players by securing a spot for them at the upcoming FIFPro Africa Division, Out of Contract Players tournament in South Africa. The 16-man team leave the country tomorrow (Thursday) for South Africa where they will face other players from South Africa, Zimbabwe and Democratic Republic of Congo. Botswana team will start with Zimbabwe to fight for a spot at the finals. The team is coached by Raizer Tsatsilebe. Speaking at the induction of the players FUB Secretary General Kgosana Masaseng said main objective of the tournament is to try and help the players get employment. Masaseng said different scouts will be present at the tournament and they will be at liberty to sign any player they are interested in. He explained that the tournament is a way of keeping the out of contract players active since they do not have teams to train with.
