
Information coming from within the Gaborone United (GU) camp is that the club’s head Coach Rodolfo Zapata might not come back to the team for the coming season. Sources close to the club revealed that this is due to the financial woes that the club is faced with at the moment. Zapata went back to his native country of Argentina at the end of the 2015/2016 beMOBILE Premier leagues season and is yet to return. The departure of GU former investor Nicholas Zakhem is believed to have taken a toll on the team’s financials. The source said the finances have affected the operations at the club and the coach has been told to wait until the situation is resolved. “It is still difficult at the club because of finances,” revealed the source. Despite heightened talks that the coach might not come back the source said there is hope as the management is working round the clock to bring back the coach.
