‘Ngurungu 5000’ membership drive

Maun-based outfit Sankoyo Bush Bucks is holding a fundraising activity this weekend termed ‘Ngurungu 5000’ - a membership recruitment drive to create a database of at least 5000 supporters. Club spokesperson Phemelo Saleshando said the team has partnered with Footballers’ Union Botswana, Sankoyo Tshwaragano and local commercial radio station Gabz FM in the exercise. He said the two-day event will feature a soccer match between Sankoyo Bush Bucks and Botswana 2012 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) Squad at Maun stadium. Other activities include music festival in a form of JAZZ session at Sedie hotel which Gabz FM will broadcast live. Saleshando said the team has large supporters who do not have membership cards that can afford them to participate in the team’s decisions making process which includes a voting during annual general assembly. They will host the Annual General Meeting (AGM) immediately after the mobilisation bear fruits. The cards vary from Gold, Silver to platinum. Subscribers of gold membership will be entitled to attend all Sankoyo games free for the whole season with another benefit being discounts at club events and getting club merchandise.
