
With the 2016 Rio Olympic Games left with just less than a week to begin, locals’ hopes for medals are high. They want nothing else but a good performance at the Olympics – meaning one medal or more is what matters. The country has arguably sent a very strong and capable team to this year’s Rio Olympic Games. Their commitment and recent performance says it all. This time the country sent a 13 member team compared to the four-member team four years ago. However even though the number tripled, quality was not compromised as Botswana National Olympic Committee (BNOC) made sure that only the best of the best were taken to Rio. The question now remains – who will win medals? Even though a target has not been set for the team, the BNOC has charged them to surpass the last edition achievement.
