South African U-21 netball team has qualified for the 2017 World Netball youth Cup after a sterling performance in the qualifiers that just ended in Gaborone, Botswana. South Africa qualified by finishing on position one after winning all the seven games they played. They brought a very strong side that promise to give other world cup qualifiers a stiff competition come 2017. Zimbabwe and Uganda also qualified after finishing second and third respectively. The two teams also had brought very strong and promising squads to the week-long Africa qualifiers held in Botswana. Botswana, on the other hand, qualified for the World Netball Youth Cup by virtue of being hosts. They used the qualifiers as preparatory games for next year’s World Cup, but it proved that they still have a lot to do to put a formidable team together to compete at the coming world show piece. Twenty world netballing countries will battle it out in the 2017 World Netball Youth Cup to be hosted in Gaborone.
