Botswana Football Association (BFA) has partnered with six of its associate members in an effort to further improve grassroots and youth development in the country. BFA on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the associate members to formalise this partnership. The associate members include Botswana Primary School Sport Association (BOPSSA), Botswana integrated Sports Association (BISA), Botswana Tertiary Schools Sports Association (BOTESSA) Footballers Union of Botswana (FUB), Botswana Brigades Sports Association (BOBSA) and Botswana Private Tertiary Association (PTIA). These associations are tasked with identifying and nurturing sporting talent among young athletes. They are basically looking at developing talent from a young age which is one of BFA’s main objectives to grow local sport. When he campaigned for election to the position, BFA president Maclean Letshwiti pushed grassroots development as a necessity BFA should be pursing to develop sport in Botswana. It is believed that the partnership will make it easier for BFA and the other members to deliver their mandate.
