Celebrated netballer Cheludo David’s dream of turning professional is on the verge of becoming a reality following her departure for Australia to attend trials. David jetted off on Friday to go and join Australian side Wood Panthers for a three months trial. The 21-year-old Sebina native is known for her wonderful performance during the Under 21 Netball Youth World Cup dubbed #Reabatsaa which was held in Botswana in 2017. Since then she has been a household name locally. She plays for Tasc. Basadi Bomme Trust under the leadership of Tebogo Lebotse-Sebego came to David’s rescue by mobilising some individuals to raise funds for her trip. Amongst the entities which have extended a helping hand is My Spar My Botswana which parted ways with P20, 000 while Shashe West MP Fidelis Molao contributed close to P10, 000. Standing at 1, 9 metres, Cheludo has 12 national team caps having represented both the senior and junior teams at various international events. Amongst her major achievements are silver medals from 2015 Botswana Games, My Spar My Botswana national league and Under 20 Africa Union Sports Council Region 5 games which were held in Angola in 2016.
