Botswana Insurance Company Limited signed a one (1) year Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) partnership agreement with The Happy Boys Football Club after two years of continued support which was on a need basis. The sponsorship is part of BIC’s CSR strategy which aims to assist The Happy Boys in reaching its mandate of youth empowerment and enhancing talent in Botswana. The P5, 000.00 sponsorship was unveiled on April2, 2016 at the BOFWA grounds in Kanye during a mini soccer tournament that had three Kanye-based teams and another from Lotlhakane. The tournament followed a litter picking campaign, which was done in the morning around Mongala mall as a way of giving back to the community. The Happy Boys clinched the title at the end of the tournament. The Happy Boys Football Club is an upcoming football club of passionate young men-based in Kanye. The team was formed back in 2007 with an aim of growing into a bigger team and a vision of combating youth unemployment through self-sustained projects which will generate income for the team.
